These are amazing and a great relief! I experience heavy flow, so I use them on lighter days, as I would need to change them approximately every two hours on heavy days. They are very comfortable and an eco-friendly option. I recommend getting the colored ones to easily notice if a leak starts.

I’ve been using menstrual cups, and during the first few days of my heavy flow, I relied on pads due to leaks. However, I found these pads to be incredibly effective—I’ve never experienced leaks with them, and they don’t retain odors. This is my second purchase, and I highly recommend them; they are worth the price!

I have four different styles of menstrual panties, and these are by far the best! They fit perfectly, the fabric is soft, and they hold up well with heavy flow. A million times better than using pads or tampons; I highly recommend them!

Update 2 I recently picked up some period underwear from Knix on sale for the holidays, and I’m giving them a try. They work well with leggings because they have minimal visible panty lines (VPL), but I wouldn’t recommend them for overnight use. The pad area is thinner, which allows them to dry faster, but I haven’t fully tested their absorbency yet. However, Bambody remains my top choice for heavy days and overnight wear without question. After months of regular use, they’ve proven to be quite durable! Just be mindful of the sizing; if you’re curvy, opt for the lace top version!
Update After a few months of using these and trying out other brands for comparison, I can confidently say Bambody is still my favorite. I also tested Thinx and Pink. While Bambody stands out, the Pink ones are a close contender. My top pick from Bambody is definitely the lace top, but both styles are fantastic.
For my Thinx experience, I chose the more affordable BTWN version from Target instead of the pricier regular ones, which may have contributed to my disappointment. They felt uncomfortable, heavy, and akin to wearing a diaper. Plus, the absorbent area didn’t extend far enough for nighttime use, making them unsuitable compared to overnight pads. They’ve now been relegated to emergency backup.
Next, I tried the Pink period underwear from Victoria’s Secret, specifically the hipster fit, which I snagged at nearly 50% off during a sale. While they’re stretchy, accurate in sizing, and made from lighter fabric, they’re still only suitable for daytime. The absorbent area is better than Thinx but still lacks coverage, and they’re less absorbent overall. However, I liked them enough to buy a few more pairs for my collection.
Regarding Bambody, I’ve discovered some pros and cons after a few months of use, though the cons stem from my own sizing mistake. They’re still fantastic, but I bought them too small. I initially sized up to XL but needed XXL, so I had to modify them to avoid discomfort. The lace top style is the most comfortable and fits best, so I reserve the briefs for nighttime when fit matters less. They’re highly absorbent, allowing me to wear them all day or night without concern. My only issue is that they don’t play well with leggings, resulting in noticeable VPL with tighter or thinner fabrics.
Original review
This is an honest review. If you don’t want to read the details, just buy these now and experience the best period of your life.
I have a terrible period. Nothing medically wrong, just one of the unlucky ones with debilitating cramps and a heavy flow that renders any attempts to manage it futile. I found some success with a cup and a pad as backup, but frequent bathroom trips aren’t always practical. After researching period underwear during a particularly rough day, I decided to give these a shot. They arrived the next day and were significantly cheaper than other brands! Still, I was skeptical—how good could they really be?
Oh, how wrong I was! I practically chased the delivery guy to get my package and immediately tossed all three pairs into the washer. They took a full day to air dry, but the next morning, I eagerly tried the first pair. In the name of science, I wore it alone without any backup.
It. Was. Amazing.
Initially, I was nervous, wondering if the claim of holding as much as two tampons was just marketing hype. With that thought in mind, I rushed to the bathroom repeatedly, fearing leaks with every gush, but there were none.
I went grocery shopping, walked my dogs, and lived my life without any issues. When I finally switched to another pair that afternoon, I felt a wave of relief.
These underwear are incredibly soft and comfortable; you don’t feel wet, and they don’t develop any unpleasant odors. My only regret was not trying them on first. I sized up to XL when I actually needed XXL. The XL worked after I stretched the leg seams a bit, but I’ve ordered some lace bikini styles in XXL.

I purchased this during a lightning deal after reading numerous positive reviews about the brand, and I couldn’t be happier! I compared it to my Modibodi Classic Bikini while wearing the Bambody without my Lena period cup.
Sizing & Fit: I was initially hesitant due to the sizing chart. According to the chart, I’m a size 8, which aligns with my usual size 16/XL, but I decided to go with a size 9. Some reviews mentioned that the leg holes feel tight and that the sizing may run small, so I’m glad I sized up since my heaviest days are when I’m most bloated. The extra room provided comfort. I appreciated that this underwear covered my pooch, even though they offer a high-waisted option. Modibodi fit well from the start but feels a bit tighter during bloating days. It’s hard to determine a clear winner since sizing can be tricky for any brand.
Capacity: Both the Modibodi and Bambody overnight underwear claim a 4 tampon capacity, but I think they hold significantly more. I wore both for about a day and a half, and they absorbed a lot, taking me around 10 minutes to rinse out the blood until the water ran mostly clear. The Bambody only leaked due to user error when I sat awkwardly, displacing the padding slightly, but it was minimal. On other days, it never leaked. I’d say both are winners in this category.
Material: I absolutely love the construction of Bambody’s underwear. It feels thin and soft, like regular underwear, and is hardly noticeable under jeans or skirts. Modibodi is a bit thicker and has a more diaper-like feel around the padding areas. Both have front-to-back padding, but Bambody takes the win for being more discreet.
Other Notes: I noticed a fraying edge during my first use of the Bambody, so I’ll keep an eye on it and update this review if it deteriorates. Additionally, I’m disappointed that my bodily functions discolored the gusset during use. This isn’t a fault of the company; it just reflects a healthy vagina.
Pricing: You genuinely can’t beat Bambody’s pricing, whether at the original or lightning deal price point—it’s worth it. Modibodi is an Australian brand, which contributes to its higher cost, so you’ll want to wait for a deal with them. Bambody definitely wins in this area!
Overall, I’m impressed and appreciate both brands for creating excellent period underwear. It feels great to eliminate wasteful pads and embrace a more eco-friendly lifestyle! I plan to try Goat Union next to see how it compares to these two. 😉

Honestly, I don’t know why I didn’t buy these sooner. I plan on getting more!

The absorbent section extends higher in the back compared to Knix, providing better coverage. While it’s not as soft or comfortable as Knix, it offers excellent value for the price. It’s true that you’ll need backup protection for overnight use—this applies to every pair of absorbent underwear I’ve tried. On your heaviest nights, a backup pad is necessary, but you’ll sleep soundly and wake up to clean sheets. That’s the goal we’re aiming for. Just be cautious of overly high expectations in other reviews.

I’d rate these a solid 4.5. They’re far more comfortable than pads, but the sizing is a bit off. I measured myself and followed the sizing recommendations, yet they feel a little loose around the stomach. It’s not a huge issue, especially with bloating, but I’d prefer a snugger fit. In terms of comfort, I find them to be very soft and pleasant to wear, and they’re quite absorbent. However, I agree with the suggestion to manage your expectations. If you have a heavier flow, you might want to use additional protection on your busiest days. I tried wearing just the underwear during a heavier day and experienced some leakage after about 6 hours (which is still better than what I get from a pad). Overall, I would definitely recommend them over pads.

These period underwear have been a true revolution in our home! My teenager adores them and feels much more confident while wearing them. The leakproof design is highly effective, giving her peace of mind throughout the school day and at night. The fabric is exceptionally soft and comfortable, which is essential during those sensitive times.
It’s such a relief to discover a product that balances practicality with comfort. They have great absorbency, holding up to 4 tampons! My daughter wears one all day and switches to a fresh pair for the night. I wholeheartedly recommend these for anyone wanting to ease the stress of that time of the month for their teen. Plus, I was pleased to learn they are made without any PFAs.
