If you’re like me and feel uncomfortable using kitchen cookware for this purpose, this product is perfect. It’s compact and fits nicely on my countertop. Plus, you don’t have to babysit it like you would a pot on the stove, which is definitely a bonus for me.

The unit is designed to be operated with a twist-timer located on the front, but the timer occasionally stops working, causing the unit to keep running. I accidentally fell asleep with it on the timer, and when I woke up the next morning, the unit and my cup were extremely hot, with all the water evaporated. I’ve ordered a replacement and will provide an update if switching units resolves the issue.

I have hard water, which leaves a residue buildup at the bottom that I can’t access or clean thoroughly, even with a Q-tip. The fill line is difficult to see, and there’s no measuring cup included, so I have to risk a short circuit by running it under the sink. On my first attempt with the steam option, the timer never fully shut off. The instructions suggest you can set it and forget it, but it continued steaming long after the 15 minutes were supposed to be up. It seems like the knob just won’t click off completely, which feels dangerous. Now, I have to monitor it constantly.
While it’s an improvement over boiling water—since I don’t have to use a pot that I also cook with—it’s still not ideal. If they release a version 2, that’s likely the one to get.

I really appreciate the concept of this product, as I’ve always disliked boiling my menstrual cup in my cooking pots. This machine is great, but keep in mind that it doesn’t come with any menstrual cups. It’s incredibly easy to use, but it does need to be plugged in to operate.
My only issue is with the dial control. To turn it on, you have to rotate the dial, which then acts like a timer that ticks down, giving it a retro feel. However, the ticking is quite loud and can become annoying quickly. I don’t understand why it was designed this way, as there’s no way to silence it. Plus, you can’t stop the timer once it’s set; the dial only turns in one direction, so even if you unplug it, you’ll still hear the ticking until it finishes. Despite this, I appreciate having a dedicated sterilizer; I just wish the dial design was improved.

If you’re considering buying one of these, they are absolutely worth it, and the customer support is fantastic. I also recommend the stain remover packets!
